AAGAZ is a
centre of the "Youth Development" which was initiated in June 2005 by
the local youth of Jogeshwari East, It was a part of the Apna Anubhav
(Anubhav Shiksha Kendra). AAGAZ works
with the student and non student youth in the city of Mumbai. It aims at
enabling youth to discover themselves and contribute positively to the
development of Society as concerned and responsible citizens. AAGAZ mainly
works with slum youth which is diverse from religion, cast , gender and state
VISION :- Development of youth as concerned
citizens committed to social transformation.
MISSION:- Educating youth to be Leaders and
change agents in society.
OBJECTIVES :-
· To develop youth into concerned
and agents of social change.
· To prepare leaders to
intervene in the transformation of society.
· To address the theme
of Secularism in the context of the contemporary turbulent socio-political
situation of Mumbai.

VALUES :-
1. Social Justice :- Economic , social and political. we reject caste and class
based stratification of society and uphold justice to the underprivileged
particularly their right to have preferential access to education and
employment . AAGAZ believes in protecting human rights, both civil and
democratic, under all circumstances.
2. Gender Justice :-AAGAZ believes in the equality of gender. It strives to
bring about transformation in traditional attitudes about gender in society
thereby inculcating gender sensitivity and the "life giving and nurturing
perspective" of life. It gives equal representation to both gender in all
their structures and process.
3. Secularism and Democracy :- AAGAZ seeks to build a community of youth who believes
in Secularism as the core ethic of a pluralistic society and democracy as the
structure, which allows for debates and discussions.
4. Honesty and Integrity:- AAGAZ believes in the values of honesty
and integrity, which have to be realized in the small things of everyday
life.
5.Environmental Sustainability:- AAGAZ stands for a development process, which is equitable
and sustainable. It does not support a consumerism culture that produces wastes
and pollutants. We promote environmental friendly products. Sustainability is a
core value as it involves redefinition of a relationship both with the
animate and the inanimate being. This involves adoption of a
simple Eco-friendly life style.
